About Us
REO Movers and Van Lines was founded in 1952 by Mr. Robert Hughes,
Sr. With small beginnings he started his operations. One Chevy van was the extent of his equipment during the early 1950’s.
However, by 1963 REO had established itself as the first minority-owned and operated moving agent for Greyhound Van Lines,
as they were called then, operating with ten moving vans. In 1965 REO became an agent for Republic Van Lines. It was during
this period that REO Movers and Van Lines saw the need to acquire its own authority to operate throughout 32 states (now licensed
for 48 states).
The company has migrated to its third generation now with Robert
Hughes, Jr. at the helm, however it has continued with the same basic agenda it started with over forty years ago –
quality service and a personal commitment to customer satisfaction. Additionally,
with the use of modern technology we here at REO Movers and Van Lines see the new millennium as promising as ever before.
